Inside the envelope was a black-and-white photograph of a potato. The photographic paper was so wrinkled it felt to the touch like a piece of fine cloth. As if it’d gone through the wear of carrying it in his pants pocket for a very long time.

光泉 Space – Lucie Fontaine’s Tokyo satellite – is happy to present two works of art by Daniel Jacoby. The space is open only by appointment and invites artists to present their work in its “tokonoma” [床の間], which is a niche, a built-in recessed space – located in the tatami room of a Japanese traditional private residence – in which items for artistic appreciation are traditionally displayed. The next work will be presented in the spring.
